    To become a tourist destination again this summer, Spain is starting to look beyond deconfinement. After countries like Greece, Italy and Portugal have already set a date for reopening doors to foreign visitors. Last Saturday the president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, responded to demand from the tourism sector, one of the economic engines of the state, and announced that Spain would resume “opening up to foreign tourism under conditions sure "at the beginning of July. In his usual appearance on Saturday, he asked the tourism sector to start preparing for the end of June and called on citizens to start planning the holidays and betting this year to discover" national wonders "with domestic tourism to revive the economy. "The time has come. There will be a tourist season this summer," proclaimed the Spanish president without giving details on how security measures will be guaranteed to avoid a resurgence. Amid doubts about how to reconcile the Schengen area, suspended by the coronavirus crisis, Spain has been negotiating for weeks with Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and France to establish "corridors of security ”between states which avoid having to apply 14 days of quarantine to new arrivals. The Spanish government's announcement also alleviates fears regarding the 14-day quarantine decreed on May 12 for all those entering the state from abroad. "Spain will be waiting for you from July on in safe conditions," he told potential foreign tourists. The current schedule that Pedro Sánchez currently has on hand is consistent with the current de-escalation process. In the case of each territory advancing in deconfinement from phase to phase within a period of two weeks, the whole of Spanish territory will have reached the “new normal life” on July 6. Mr. Sánchez however stressed that from the end of June, there could already be domestic tourism and according to these same forecasts the departments of Girona, Lérida and Central Catalonia will be able to go to other territories from June 29 , and Barcena and metropolitan areas from July 6.
